The competition for women
The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.
The women's competition is filled with top-level athletes. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. The Pegboard contest tests a competitor's grip strength and coordination. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok equipment
Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They can be used for multiple fitness goals. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe.
