Competition for women
The 2021 Crossfit Games women's competition opened this morning with a swim event. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.

This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr, who won 30 games events, holds the record of most wins in one Games event. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. This year's CrossFit Games Field includes 236 athletes. This is the largest field in its history. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was criticized by veterans Games participants who felt the cuts were too large.
Equipment from Reebok
Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are made to meet multiple fitness needs.
